ACK!!

Wow, we certainly have been absent a lot lately! Sorry guys. Things have been so hectic lately I can barely keep up with everything. After I posted last, Wrigley ran into a little trouble with his neuter. His incision site was bleeding and we had blood trailed all over the apartment. He also had diarrhea. The following day, off to the vet we went. It seemed that his incision was just a little irritated, but okay...as for the poops...he had coccidia...AGAIN!! 10 days of pilling later, he was good as new and pooping like a champ.

The day after his medicine ended, Chris and I were off to Saint Louis for my college roommates wedding. We had an excellent time, but our flight back got screwed up and we ended up having to drive home to Virginia which took us 13 hours. Not fun!

Now that we are home, we get to start the process of moving. We get the keys to our new townhouse in 11 days and we can't wait. So things are going to be getting even more hectic since we are doing all of the moving ourselves. My brother-in-law is coming down memorial day weekend so that should be good.

And of course...our two little (and quickly getting bigger) guys are being great snoopervisors.

When they aren't snoopervising, they are knocking down our empty cabinets!
And Cobalt has decided that he likes the "higher" things in life.Yes...one day I heard a thump and this is where I found him. He is quite the daredevil, I must say.
Wrigley decided to sit these adventures out and watch from the sidelines. Errr...the toilet!

They're Back!

This is the boys this morning before they went to the vet for their big hoohaectomies. It was a long day, and I worried a TON, but they are home now and seem to be doing okay.

I got a call from the vet this morning and the vet noticed that Wrigley's big boy teeth were popping through, just like Cobalt's has previously been. So she wanted our permission to pull his baby teeth. We gave the permission and Wrigley had his 2 baby teeth pulled. Besides that, everything went smoothly...or so I thought! HAHA. I got to the vet and she gave us our total which didn't sound right to me. So, I asked if they had done everything we requested. As it turns out, they didn't chip them. So while we were there waiting, they got chipped. It must have hurt because we could hear their cries all the way up in the waiting room. Poor guys.

Anyways, now we are home, and everybody seems to be doing good. Cobalt, though, seems to be really mad. He has been hissing like crazy at Wrigley and won't seem to give him a break. Then Chris decided to hold a mirror in front of him and he hissed at his reflection. So we think he just doesn't like the collars they have to wear. Oh well...7-10 days of this stuff. I don't know how we're going to last that long. Hopefully they'll be healed up good by the end because on the 9th day my mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law are coming and they haven't met the boys yet. So I hope they're in good loving moods. Only time will tell.

Here they are right when we got home. Cute huh? The vet and all the techs just loved them. They said any time ANYBODY walked past their cage they just started crying and meowing like crazy. These boys just loved to be loved. HAHA!
I get to show off Wrigley's new look!
Chris with Cobalt. (Sorry Chris, I know this isn't your most flattering picture)

Wrigley going potty for the first time. I know, not his best place to be posing, but it was a good photo op because he was sitting still.
Laser eyes to beam these collars somewhere far away.

Can we still be man cats even though we do not have man bits? We hope the answer is yes!

Tomorrow is the Big Day!

Sorry I have been so bad at posting recently. Chris and I are in the process of moving (well not really, we'll be moving next month) but we've been in constant contact with a realtor and are trying to find a place to live. Ahhh, talk about stressful.

Tonight, I got home from work, and as usual I picked up Cobalt to check his poor teeth. Well guess what...they fell out! I think my scare tactics worked. I told Cobalt that if his teeth didn't fall out before he got neutered, then they'd probably have to yank them out then. Well what do you know, they fall out the night before! Yay Cobalt, you're on your way to becoming a big boy.

So that, obviously, leads me to my second point. Wrigley and Cobalt are going to be neutered tomorrow. I'll be dropping them off tomorrow morning between 7:00-7:30 and I can pick them up at 5:30. We've elected to do the pre-op blood panel and also fluids under the skin. I'm getting the blood work done just because I'm totally freaked out because of Zeus. If you remember from my introductory post, we had him for about 5 weeks before he died, at the age of 12 weeks, from a congenital kidney defect. So I'm just terrified that we'll run into that same sort of problem. Then we're also going to get them micro chipped.

So tomorrow is going to be a big day for the boys and I know I'll be worried about them all day. So please purrrrray for them and hope that they come through it okay. I'll update again tomorrow once they come home.

We're Two Sick BoyCats

Cobalt: Okay so we're not really that sick, but I figured it was a good idea for a title. To begin, I tried to make a post last night with those videos but they were taking forever to load and the bean said we had to go to bed. So, I'm going to post some tonight.

First of all, our sickness. The vet called mommy yesterday and said Wrigley's fecal came back positive for Coccidia. Mommy said it's a one celled organism that lives in the intestines. Wrigley had to go back to the vet today to get some pills that mommy shoves down his throat. Even though they didn't take in my poop, I have to take the medicine too. It's not too much fun, but I don't want to be sick forever, so I guess I'll put up with it. Mommy and daddy already had so much sadness with Zeus, we don't want to make it worse for them.

And now I'll show you guys some videos. The bean hasn't gotten many good ones, so these will have to do for now.

This is Wrigley and I watching daddy point the laser behind the couch. When the flashy box is watching, we don't fall off, but when it isn't watching we do! This is the beans' favorite video.

Here is me and Wrigley wrestling. We sure do that a lot. Mom is still trying to get a good video of us chasing each other. We run ALL over the apartment and it is SO much fun.

Finally, this is me playing with our feather toy. I love jumping to catch it. I'm getting pretty good at doing flips.

We hope you enjoyed us!!

The Vet

Well, I was all set to let the guys post about their big trip today. But they are out cold!! So, I'll just have to do it for them.

The visit went great! They couldn't get over how cute Wrigley and Cobalt are. I knew we had two little cuties.

Wrigley: Wrigley weighed in at 3.06 pounds. I mentioned the diarrhea and the vet didn't seem concerned. She ran a slide and didn't see anything significant, but we're going to be bringing in a fecal sample.

Cobalt: Cobalt weighed in at 4.02 pounds. Practically a whole pound bigger than Wrigley!! I hope he doesn't grow up to be too huge of a guy! But at the rate he's growing, he'll be big pretty fast. :-(

Overall, they said both boys look fantastic. They got their second FCVRP and deworming. We'll be back in two weeks for the next round. We also talked to them about removing their manhood. It was quite amusing because Wrigley had been sitting quietly, minding his own business and giving himself a bath for probably 10 minutes, totally not paying attention to us. Well the second the vet said "Oh yeah, we just cut right in the scrotum" his head shot RIGHT up and all of a sudden he was very focused on hearing what the vet had to say. It gave everyone a good laugh.

So overall a positive report. Now we'll just see if the fecals reveal anything significant.

I'll have the boys post their meme tomorrow and I also got a couple REALLY great pictures today. (For once I thought to maybe take the camera out in the daylight instead of trying to take all the pictures at night time!!!)

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
