Sorry I haven't been around lately. As you know, I mentioned in my last post my mom was recently diagnosed with cancer. She was really improving but unfortunately, she unexpectedly passed away last week. I'm feeling very lost right now, and just well...I don't really know. I never thought I'd lose my mom when I am only 24 years old. I'm still in a state of disbelief really.

My husband Chris and I are with my dad here in Chicago and will be returning to Virginia tomorrow. Wrigley and Cobalt are with a pet sitter for the time being so I hope they are okay. Hopefully I'll regain some sort of normalcy once we return and I can get back into the habit of posting regularly.

My aunt wrote a really nice post on her blog today about my mom, which can be found here.

I stopped by to check on you and see how you are doing, but I can see by your lack of posts that you are probably not doing well. I lost my mother 2 years ago next month, and even thought I'm older than you, it was still hard. Everyone's grief is different, so don't worry about posting until you are ready, but know there are other bloggers who care.

This happened to my sister too. She left a daughter in her early twenties. My sister's husband died a few years before that very suddenly, so there were no parents left for my niece.
It will take you a while to get over the shock. I still feel angry that my sister had to die before living the rest of her life, but that isn't rational. I can't help feeling it though.
