Howdy! You guys all get to hear from me, the mombean, today! How exciting, right? HAHA.
Anyways, this afternoon I was massaging Cobalts gums and I happened to open his mouth and noticed he has some extra teeth. He has 2 canines on each side.
I don't know how I didn't notice this earlier, so I'm thinking it must have just happened in the last couple of days? Or else I just really haven't been paying enough attention, haha! My guess is that the bigger teeth are his baby teeth and the smaller ones are his adult teeth that have just started to come through. Though I really have no idea. I've done some Google searching and thats all I can seem to find. As you can see in the pictures, his gums look very inflamed, but that could just be because there are 2 teeth in there. They aren't discolored and it doesn't seem to be bothering him. Should I call the vet first thing tomorrow morning? Should I be worried? They go in on April 10th for their neuter, which is only like 2 weeks away. So I guess that gives time for the baby teeth to fall out. And if they don't, they can pull them while he's under the anesthesia for the neuter. I'm just not even sure if thats whats going on. I've never experienced a cat loosing their teeth before. So I'm not sure what to look for. Poor guy!
In more exciting news (for us!) Chris and I had a little "photo shoot" with the boys yesterday. They hated it!!
Here is Wrigley, dressed up as an elephant.
Cobalt waited patiently on the sidelines laughing to himself that poor Wrigley had to put on a ridiculous hat and have his picture taken.
Little did he know, that he would be subjected to the same treatment just a few minutes later.
He was NOT amused.
How about some group shots instead...Take 2...
Take 3...Cobalt looks even madder!!
At least they were rewarded with Temptations!!!

Yep, he's getting his big-boy fangs in! Usually getting the permanent teeth in will push out his baby teeths.
If you already have an appointment on the 10th I wouldn't worry too much. His baby teeth should fall out on their own.
P.S.
Thanks for participating in Beau auction to support Moki and Lilly Lu!
Um, we neffur noticed our big teef coming in until da baby ones fell out. We think it can wait until the 10th. Mom sez she'd call da vet just to make sure. Our mom is a worrier...
WOW!! Extra teeth!I never noticed that before! I guess you bac really put the bitey on things!!
Good thing you got Temptations for posing,But you can still get some revenge at 3AM! heehee

Hahahaha, how funny (and cute) they look! Umm, I never let SS look into my mouth. I give her the bitey!
Thanks for coming by and seeing me. I am better now but the vet says that I haven't quite recovered yet because the tests are still abnormal. That means more tests next week. *sigh*
Awww, those two costumes are so cute! And your new teeth is wowsie!! Extra teeth to eat your Temptations with. Yeah.
You boys look very cute in your hats, although you don't look too happy. We are glad you were rewarded with treats.
Very cool about the extra teeth! They are probably just the grown-up teeth growing in before the baby teeth have fallen out, but maybe call the vet, just to be sure.
Unless he starts expriencing discomfort to the point that he won't eat, you don't need to worry about it. He's getting is adult teeth and loosing his baby ones. If he's still doubled up when he goes in for surgery, you should mention it at that time and see if they want to pull the babies.
Yeah, our mom tried putting Santa hats on us. We were not pleased! Mom said I looked like the grinch! However, your hats are very cute, but I still don't think I want those on my head!!
At least you got treats!

We had double teeth too. Nothing to worry about. The old ones will fall out when they are ready. Cobalt & Wrigley will probably swallow them and that's okay. If they start chewing on things they shouldn't (cables, wires) they may need a teething toy. One of our friends even got a small nylabone for their kitty for teething and he still carries the thing around at 8 years old.
Yep, I had extra teeth for a bit too, but my baby teeth fell out and now I have just the right number!

I have stopped in today to let you both know how much I love you two! You are always here to cheer an old cat like me up. A faithful friend...that is what you both are. I wish I could have the extra teeth are are going to fall out of your mouth soon...I have one broken canine or feline as I prefer to call them. Well that is the price I pay for getting old I guess. You are both such beautiful young kits still, full of energy and getting the best of love from your wonderful beans in your forever home. Lucky indeed is what you are...

I have double teeth too! Sounds like it's pretty common. My vet said not to worry about it and the baby teeth will probably fall out and for mom and dad to just keep an eye on them.

Guys, you must put your paw down and not allow yourselves to be photographed in such embarassing poses!
As to the teeth, the baby teeth will fall out when the adult teeth come in. If that hasn't happened by the time they go for their hoo-ha-ectomy, talk to you vet about it.
The photos of the costumed
kitties are so funny! Thanks
making me laugh!!!!!
Yep we had loads of extra teefs too. Mum never knew about them until she kept finding tiny little baby teefs by a box we liked to chew on. She looked in our moufs and saw lots and lots of teefs. All the little teefs came out on their own.
Yes, he is teething!!! The milk teeth will be gone very soon. Great pictures!!!!

Generally, in English, the word adoration is reserved for God alone and therefore it aptly translates latria. The word worship is derived from the W.
